Privacy Policy

The short version: your documents never leave your machine, the app has no accounts, and we collect as little as it takes to sell you a license and honor it.

Your documents

SitesMark is a desktop app. Every PDF you open, edit, OCR, or mark up is processed locally on your computer. We have no servers that receive, store, or scan your documents, and the app never uploads them.

What we do collect

• Purchases. Checkout is handled by Polar (polar.sh), our merchant of record. Polar collects your email address and payment details to process the order and sends us your email and license information so we can support you. We never see your card number.
• License activation. When you activate, the app sends your license key and a device identifier to our license server to verify the key and count your devices (up to 3). That's the only time the app talks to us. No document data, no usage analytics.
• Support email. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you later.

The optional AI assistant

If you turn on the AI assistant, you supply your own Anthropic API key. Text from documents you ask about is sent directly from your machine to Anthropic — it does not pass through our servers. Anthropic's handling of that data is governed by their terms and privacy policy. Don't use the assistant on documents you're not comfortable sending to a third-party AI provider. With no key configured, the app sends nothing to anyone.

This website

sitesmark.com is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may log basic request data (like IP addresses) to serve and protect the site. We don't run ad trackers or sell data to anyone.

Data retention & your rights

We keep purchase and license records for as long as your license is active (it's a lifetime license, so: as long as you want us to). Email us to ask what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — deleting your license record means we can no longer verify your license.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. We won't quietly start collecting more.
